Based in Toronto, Canada, Gus* Modern was founded in 2000 as a designer and manufacturer of modern furniture and accessories. Inspired by the mid-century modern design aesthetic, their goal from the very beginning has been, as they put it, to "create modern furniture that combines great design with practical purpose." The Gus Modern design studio asked, “how do we create a visually striking lounge chair without sacrificing comfort or style?”
Their goal was achieved by combining high-quality materials with modern construction resulting in a chair that looks as good as it feels while sitting in it.
